I'm just looking for some opinions here. What would you consider to be a better swather, the new John Deere W260 with 500R rotary header, or the new Massey Ferguson WR9870 with the Razor Bar rotary header? I drove the Massey Ferguson last year and I really liked it, but this year, I will be driving the new John Deere. What are your experiences with these two swathers, and how have you liked them? What are the main differences, good and bad?

Are you buying or just operating ? I have never been in the w260 but they did unload a new w235 here last summer, it is a huge swather compared to the r450 sitting beside it . I have given some thought of the next machine might just be a new massey.

I'm just operating for now, but hopefully in a few years I will be able to purchase something. I am just wanting opinions to see what everyone thinks.

It will be hard to get many opinions from anyone with experience ,the W260 is new for 2015 ,they are big none have more HP and I don't believe any have as big of tires ,barrels of oil flow per minute.

We bought a 9870, but haven't had a chance to use it yet. The local dealer has a 260 on the lot. It looks like a really good machine, I think they've made a lot of progress with the new header. We are gonna demo it at some point. The massey however is still going to be superior for fast dry down.
