Hi, I have a John Deere S680, with just under 4000 engine hours, I have done #5 injector spring, which knocked off #5 intake valve bridge, fixed all that up now I have a loud “choffing” noise hard to describe other then sounds like air is getting out somewhere. Done a cylinder compression test through service advisor and says all cylinders are ether 91% or higher #5 is #92%. Anyone else had a nothing similar?? Just wondering if it’s maybe valve stem seals?? Cheers for the help

I think it's just John Deere engines are ****. My 9200 just let go and it's had an easy life and well looked after. JD techs can't figure out what exactly has happened but it ain't good. Of the 4 local farmers who run JD 4wd tractors 3 have had major engine failures.
