After starting my 4840 and unhooking my 3pt sprayer, I noticed quite a bit of oil dripping out of the drain hole between the engine and trans. The tractor has about 10hrs on it since I had a new dampening clutch put in it last fall, so I thought they may have put a new rear main and input shaft seal, but not sure. While using it to spray the other day I noticed a hot hydraulic fluid smell and it was dripping just slightly, but today its worse. The tractor shifts fine and the hydraulic fluid level is still in good shape. What kind of problem might I have?

You got an oil leak!...Is the oil black(motor) or is it 'clear oil'?...does it smell like hyd. oil and clear? Probably is hyd. oil.

Look it over and make sure the oil isn't running-down from up under the hood and just dripping off the bottom of the clutch-housing...could be as simple as a loose hose-clamp on a hyd. oil-cooler hose....
