By looking through machine finder it seems that 8400 hold there value better then the 10 and 20 series is there a reason. There is more availability of the 10s and 20s, but if compare hours to price seems the 00s sell for more.

We owned a 8210....and traded it for our 8335R. We also have a 8430. They are much nicer tractors to operate, offer farm more performance, and to be honest....have been nearly as reliable as the 8210 was. My comment was for "tech haters" the 00/10 series tractors are their last chance to avoid it. I can't understand why, but some just hate change.
Truth that is. And first year of 8x00 series had the 7.6 liter engine inherited from 55 series JD. 8.1 was more tech-ier.
Honestly, i think 55 series JD's were the last ones with not to much tech integrated........perhaps even 50 series......55 series had digital dash, EHR.....some high-tech sh*t for early 90's :)
Frankly, even nowadays, those tractors are nice to work with and can compete with some brand new models.
