I think I read some time back, about using " swimming floaties" between the 2 pieces of glass on the rear windows of NH combines. Will water pipe insulation work? Any detail would help!

don't see why not, same idea other than the floaties are more dense then the insulation. put the floaties in this year and made a big difference for awhile. They shrink from the heat I guess. I should have bought an extra one. shrunk enough by the end of the season had a 6 inch gap between the ends.

I use a swimming noodle which helps keep most of the chaff out but it still gets dusty. Every night ill stick the air wand between the cab and tank and blow off any dust that builds up on the glass. Water pipe insulation will work similar to a noodle but needs to be at least the same diameter in order to stay in place.

Did you use silicone or something else to stick to glass?

If it is the right thickness, it will wedge between cab and tank. Made mine with noodle, had a complete circle, think I duck tape ends together. Not sure water insulation will work as good, might need water hose inside.

Have heard a bicycle inner tube works but have never tried it myself.

Bicycle inner tube is what I use and yes it works very well.
