grew some L130 last year. chem fallowed the field this year. hit it was 3/4 of a liter of roundup with banvel. did not kill it think maybe had some round up ready canola mixed with it
Have you had roundup ready on the field in the last 5-10 years? It seems to take a lot of years to get rid of volunteers in any flavour. Canola can be one of the biggest PITA weeds depending on conditions. It especially is a pain when it comes second growth and you want to strait cut something. You can't just desiccate it and use chemicals other than glyphosate to do such. Not allowed.
Use what ever you would use if you were controlling RR canola, as that is what you have by the sounds of it. Banvel is very weak on canola control. 24-d or express should do the trick.
Had the same thing happen to a research plot back when RR canola was new on the scene. 6 to 8% contamination in non-RR certified seed was documented years ago. Apparently the situation hasn't improved.
We have never seeded roundup ready canola and there is canola in our soybeans that is L130 that has not died with two applications of roundup of a liter per acre or more.
A few years ago a custom sprayer sprayed out my liberty canola with roundup. You wouldnt believe the amount of RR canola I had left. It was no suprise to the bayer rep either.
