Due to non stop rain this summer my yellow peas are still quite green. They are chest high in places but taking forever to ripen. 2-3 weeks behind at least. Still standing pretty good. Going to spray them with Reglone. Don't really want to wait another 2 weeks to spray. How green is too green to spray? Up here in NE Alberta, almost no harvesting done yet. Most wheat a week or 2 away from spraying. no rain all of May. 14'' since mid June. Cant break out of this cool cloudy wet pattern. Shaping up to be a crap harvest again:9:

I know it is not fun waiting. We are in north central Alberta.
You don't want to be spraying too early. You run the risk of the yellow peas not turning yellow (they will stay kind of green). Reglone also doesn't work very well if the plant is not already dying off naturally. Spraying Reglone later in the evening helps.

The top pods should be getting an orange peel feel to them. The peas in the top pods should not be shiny wet inside when you slide the pea in half. This is the earliest you want to spray.

That's too green. You just have to wait. Spray them that green and reglone will do nothing. Been there. Done that. 3 years ago we did reglone , round up and roundup plus heat. Ended up picking up the round up first. Round up and heat 2nd and reglone last. Totally backwards but how it went.
