One of you guys will know this. Directly under the cabin door, behind a removable mesh shield is the variable drive for the header. I assume it has some large piston which moves either way and is controlled by the hydraulic pressure. I do not have a vary head and assume it is somehow locked. It is leaking the same coloured oil as in the hyd. reservoir.

Can someone give me an idea what is inside, etc .
Many thanks.

This is a Gleaner R60 or N series ? Is the belt a 2 belt set -non VS drive - or a single approx 2.5 " belt - If so the VS is locked out. Loosening the three bolts and pivoting the lock will unlock as the bolt heads will not go through the holes. The VS unit is sealed by 71353080 oring and back up kit. If you do not use it simply install a cap on the line that attaches to the rotary coupling .
