Looking for insight into best aps/concave setup for my crops. Crops: wheat/hrsw some is Glenn (which is very hard threashing), canola, peas, soybeans, corn, and pintos (obviously fragile). I have a new to me lexion 760tt that came with a round bar main concave. Thinking I would like/need to change. Interested in going to a HHS that has the interchangeable concave pieces. I need to call him and see what he thinks also just looking for some heads up insight. Looks like it would be half round and then you could add wheat aps to front and wheat aps to the concave for wheat. For corn it could be all rounds? How about for soybeans, canola and pintos ? Also is the wheat setup going to be aggressive enough for Glenn?
Soybeans and wheat aps plates look the same?
HHS impeller wear kit as good as any?

Most of the time crop is fairly dry, with exception of some high moisture corn for feedlot.

I have the HHS interchangeable concave, wheat, barley, sorghum go with key stock APS wheat grates in the APS area and key stock soya grates in the first part of the concave, then for mung beans & corn full round bar APS and concave, then chickpeas and soya's key stock soya grates in APS and concave its a great setup I have been very happy with this setup, well worth it

Aussie's concave is round bar in the non-changeable area. He has ran this concave for 2 seasons and had great results. Check out some of his posts on here on the combine forum for his experience.
The great thing about the interchangeable concave is you can mix and match the grates in the concave and the APS to find what works best for your crops and area. We have many concaves in your area. Pricing and pictures are available at the my website hhsparts.com. Feel free to give me a call anytime and we can discuss your options. My contact info is on the website.

Jeremy, do you take used concaves in on trade, roundbar or large keystock? I didn't know if you used their frames or anything for your design.

Round bar, being able to go from an aggressive key stock setup to complete round bar has been great in our operation with dry corn and beans (8-13%) it's been very soft on these grains while going key stock in the changeable and the APS area even with the fixed round bar it is aggressive enough for the wheats & barley we harvest always a clean sample, we have a new Lexion coming that will have it in from day one an absolute must have in my operation

I use his wheat APS grates and intensive threshing kit and/or pre-concave coverplate installed on the bottom. Its a Claas item made of thin metal that bolts on under the concave, between the APS and main concave frame, preventing grain to fall through. My wheat is easier to thresh, which is likely why I can get along with the roundbar main concave.
