Hi all, looking at investing in a 3pl linkage spreader for the upcoming season.

Contract (custom) costs are still very manageable at the moment, however, i think we have a lot to gain by improving timing and splitting applications. there is good potential for some contract work that will help to cover some cost.

At the moment im looking a Kuhn Axis 50.1W and an Amazone ZAM Ultra.
-3000 kg of product (super phos and urea mostly)
-Scales
-in cab rate adjust
-in cab width
-fence line control
-auto shut off

if anyone has any experience with either of these or another suggestion i would really appreciate your input.

Many thanks

Those should both be good machines. I bought a Bogballe m3w last year. More than happy with it. Runs on isobus through the fendt screen which works very well. Spread pattern seems accurate and the weigh cells are extremely accurate. Can be upgraded to section control also but not sure I can justify the cost on current acerage.

Want to contract with it this year so if more product going through it section control may be worthwhile.

I've got a m3w bogballe as well. Had it 3 seasons. 26000 ha so far. Lots of contract. Scales and build quality aw sum. Never touched a thing. Buy the long life vanes. Put extensions on mine. 3.7 t urea full. We spread a lot at 36m but prefer 33m as our urea we get isn't very good. Every load spreads different. I've have seen the spread at 42m. Perfect weather only but you can see a problem with stripping straight behind the machine. That's my two bobs worth.
