When sucking chem, do you shut the water right off ? Or just throttle it back ? I assume that would be quicker than using Venturi to induct it out of totes?
I throttle the water back, it helps move things faster. If you get caught with a near-full sprayer you can suck just chemical, but it doesn't seem to come out any faster. I think the water helps the pump keep it's prime. With a venturi you HAVE to have water, sometimes that just isn't workable if the sprayer is almost full. This way is flexible.

I suck out of totes for higher volume products through the suction side of a 3" pump, I measure the totes and mark with a sharpie (7.2 gallons per inch). It's very fast, reliable and as accurate as using meters. I can routinely mix and load our 1,200 gallon sprayer in 6-8 minutes by myself and the more products I suck directly from the totes is the less I have to worry about rinsing my mix tanks.

My buddy uses 1600 ga ( same on sprayer ) mixtank on trailer , he pulls up blows it in and sprays right away .
Biggest advantage you don't worry about if badge is mixed proper.
Need two smart guys.
Will work with two sprayers thinking .

When we have an extra person we use a pull type sprayer with the booms taken off and a few mods, everything is mixed, pump running and hose ready to fill the SP. Takes another person if you dont have someone chasing you with the water truck, but beats roading the sprayer everywhere and can fill in under 10 minutes, compared to 30+ sucking out of the tote and mixing with the chem handler.

A tote set on a set of scales is accurate. Specific gravity is easy to come by. You can suck with as big a pump as you want. Scales are the most accurate method for measuring quick

To get real fancy put scales on the sprayer. Seeding equipment gets scales, why not a sprayer? You would know gallons left , how much water put into tank etc

Stevie when using the scales how do you figure out the weight per litre of the chemical inside so you can figure out how many pounds to take out of each tote or barrel
