I am wanting to get some opinions on good 8/16 interplant planters. I will be doing about 100 acres of corn and 100 acres of beans starting off on my own. I like the kinzes just not the price the comes along with them. I will be running row starter on the planter in a 2x2 setup

Try looking at a Great Plains twin row, I like my corn and beans with it. What kind of budget you got?

Get the kinze and run precision parts on the metering units, and it will be a pretty good set up.. For the amount of acres you could get a 6/11 if you could find it.

For co few acres it would be reasonable to just hire a neighbor with good up to date equipment

I farm about 220 acres with a 6/11 7240 deere. Precision e-sets. Works great for me. Everything was in quick this year. Pull it with a 4320 deere if your wondering about size needed to pull. Also run 2x2 starter on it. I picked up mine for around 15,000.

I am wanting to stay around $25,000. I am starting with 200 acres and will be doing more with other family owned ground within a couples years. i found a good deal on a john deere 4630 which i know is over kill for what i will be doing, but its a nice tractor with 800 hrs on major overhaul.

How do you have your 7300 set up I have been considering building something like that myself
