Looking for info on everyone's experiences using a MD 973 in peas, or a honeybee. Would be interested in opinions on older headers as well. Currently have used our 400 series Gleaner head in peas or we have swathed them on occasion. Looking for a better option, the draper should be night and day difference in wheat compared to the 400. Thanks in advance

I thought the 973 Macdon was the best thing out for peas, till they brought out the D series. We had three 973 style Macdons for the dirty work. A 30, 36 and 39 footer. They were great for doing this type of work. Cut low, feed well, reel worked well. You can screw up the coil springs on the adaptor and really make the cutterbar light on the ground.
Much Much better than our 36, 39 and 42' Honeybees.

Did your 973's have a pea auger?
