Yes there should be a fuse in the panel.
There was problems with that and a relay was added near the brush holder for the clutch to carry the electrical load.
Pretty much a necessity to add the relay.

Machine clutch is fried. was told by mechanics this resulted from faulty alternator. Not enough "juice" and resulted in combine plugging. Make sense?
Yes if your supply voltage to the clutch is too low it'll burn out.

Could be a bad alternator. Could be a faulty cab switch, if you haven't done the relay MOD yet to get direct battery power to the clutch.
