Hi All,
I am searching for a 4840, 4880, 4900 or even a 5200 series with three point hitch. PTO would be a nice option as well.
Would anyone have one for sale ?
Thanks,
Tom
Yes same frame as the 4000 series. The Agco star is the same frame. When you put a in line six the frame is 13 to 15 inches longer on the front.Since we are on the topic of Massey’s, were the front frame and hood longer on a 5200 than they are on a 4000 series?
I have seen a 3406 Cat ,855 Cummins,60 series Detroit . 1150 Cummins all worked well. The 1150 was set at 525 HP the transmission lasted 12000 hours.my bucket list includes installing a 60 series detroit in a 4000 series massey. i have a 4900 frame ready to cut, a 4840 with a bad engine and can get either a 60 series detroit that needs a rebuild or a 3406 b cat that runs great but is a little more money then what i want to spend. wish there was a book with pictures for us dumb arses to follow. nothing on line to even get started with. KJ at reddeere did several with 914's and told me they worked great. must be one of these parked in the trees somewhere.if anyone has a 5200 laying around i sure would be interested.
