Hi there. Just looked at a couple N6s. One is an 84' and the other a 85'. The 84' has a tailings elevator that goes further upward apears to dump onto the cross auger above the feeder chain. I wonder if it has a door that can also dump it into the cylinder?
The 85' has a shorter elevator and appears to dump the tailings onto the accelerator rolls.

Any way to find out on a parts page or anyone have time to explain the real differences with these tailings setups?

BTW, is there a parts online setup somewhere that I can look these parts up?

Thanks.

Sounds like the 84 has the dual tailings system. I think there should be a lever that flips a door to either send return back to accelerator rollers or back to cylinder. We've just recently upgraded to Gleaner rotories from L2's. Our R62 has the dual tailing return. We've just been leaving the return back to accelerator rollers. Maybe someone else with more experience can tell us the advantages to return to cylinder versus rollers. Maybe in some really tough threshing crops I could see needing to return to cylinder.

Here's the link to the on-line parts book. It works really slick and has been very helpful for us. You'll need to call or visit your Agco dealer that you use for parts so they can set up a login account and password for you. It's all free to use.

You may already have this figured out but on our 85 N6 we used to have the small seeds kit and I dont believe it had the ability to switch between return to the accelerator rolls and the rotor like you can on the 2series. I think it just put it back in front of the rotor. Now I could be wrong here because i never really paid much attention to it. Once we put the small seed kit on the sample was amazingly clean in wheat. They might have changed the kit since we put it on though to include the two return options.

I wonder if the 85' machine was yours.
It came from Odessa. I think Walter equipment sold it first.

The 84' machine had the small seed kit that gave 2 extra choke panels for the fan. And it had the tailings that had the cross auger up top to send the tailings forward some. I saw the opening over the front cross auger over the feeder chain, but did'nt look for a door to send it to the cylinder.

The 85' machine did not have either. It had the tailings dropped in over the accelerator rolls.

I'd like to have those kits on the 85' machine cause it is in better condition.
