That elbow seems to be what some call "problematic", in that they tend to rot out unless you keep them clean and dry. Doesn't help that the tube is made of rather thin metal and the area doesn't clean out very well and tends to hold moisture. I think the very best thing you could do is take your rotten elbow to your local fabrication shop and have them make you up a very much stouter one out of at least 3/16" tubing with a better clean out hole.
The problem with scrounging one from a salvage yard is that for the most part that elbow is rotten on them too. Often thought that a stainless tube would be the best solution, yes I've been down this road before.
