Just curious if anyone else does native forbs? My buddy and I thought we needed some more irons in the fire a couple years ago and ended up buying a 1986 Wintersteiger Nurserymaster Plot combine, powered by a 4 cylinder volkswagen diesel and cutting with a 4ft header. It does a pretty good job on small patches out in the Sandhills of Nebraska, and we can haul it on a tandem axle flatbed trailer, but we are looking at upgrading to a "bigger" smallish combine, something that could handle a 15 FT Platform head, but isn't terribly huge (fairly easily transported from place to place whether trailer-ed or roaded). Also needing something that we can really shut the air down on to a whisper (native forbs are usually super light and easy to blow out the back) What is everyone's recommendations? We've been looking at some CIH 1460's and 1680's .
