Hey Dan I checked in on the leak on the rotor gearbox on that 08 R-75 and it is leaking on the inside somewhere. I also checked in the book on what the gearbox holds and it said that it holds 5 pints so I put in 3 pints so there was some left in there. I was glad to see that there was a leak so I know that it just wasn't run low for like 300hrs. Going to get rotor out and figure out where leak is.

We have seen this many times over the years and you will usually find the frost plug on the inside that covers the end of the shift rod missing. Make sure you clean area really well with brake cleaner and air dry. Then use red loctite when installing frost plug to hold in place. Rotor removal is easiest way to repair this issue. We also only use synthetic oil in rotor gearbox for this exact issue. If you have very little oil in gearbox at least the synthetic will lower the risk of damage to gearbox.

One additional note on that plug that seems to get pushed out sometimes, A tip from my local dealership that they do on all machines that they pull rotors on is they take a small piece of angle iron and drill the appropriate sized holes in it and locate it using two of the bolts on the gearbox cover plate. This then covers the plug and makes it impossible to be pushed out. I think it takes a slightly longer bolt to mount and the strange thing is the head of the bolts in the gearbox cover have metric heads on them but the threads are standard, go figure? It seems someone on this sight may have pictures of this update. Good luck.
