Do any of you use the "area counter" that is on the "A' post? My "new to me" 2188 that I recently purchased at a farm sale has this feature and the other day while getting aquainted with this new machine, did the calibration and did a test to see if it counts. In the calibration mode, set the header width at 25ft, header height at shut off value of 30 and did my test. Drove the combine with the feederhouse running, header height at 20 (10 below the shut off value) and at 4mph (all of this per operators manual instructions) and it did not count a thing. Checked with my dealer to see what I have done wrong and they don't even know!

Did I do something wrong in the calibration mode? Need some answers from someone that knows.
I want this feature to work....Thanks

trakman, how far did you drive the combine with the feeder running? I don't believe the counter will show tenths, only whole acres so if you didn't go far enough to have covered one acre it probably won't show anything. Would have to get my pencil out to figure out how far that is... 1742.4 ft. Good luck.

hydro100....operators book says that when viewing the area counter display......if you push the button a second time within the 4 second period...it will show 10th's of acres. I know i didn't drive it far enough to account for 1 acre and maybe didn't push the button twice to see if any 10th's of an acre were counted.

Maybe it's on the display...will check tommorrow.

Thanks and if anyone else can help me, it would be greatly appreciated!
