The seed boots on my JD 1560 drill has a lot of forward and back movement. I've been looking for ways to fix it and have run across the needham bushings. They look like they will work but I was just looking for some input from someone who has used them.

I have used them on my 1860 that has 1890 series boots. I was skeptical at first, but they are great. I have done several boots and it takes all the play out of them. Just make sure that you pay attention, there is a long and short bushing, and it matters which side they go in. You won't regret buying them. Building the jig was a little bit of a challenge, but well worth the time. Also buy his drill bit, it will save you time.

Here's a link to a picture thread I put up when I did my 1590. Not saying it is the perfect way, nor the only way, just the way I did it and I love the job those bushings do.
