got my new 740 this week. Lots of changes from my last one. Started it up and noticed it was in third gear, opened throttle and would only open to 1/2 throttle. 1st and 2nd gears were ok but 3rd only 1/2. Salesman that delivered it thought it ran wide open and about 20mph. Tec came out, put on computer didn't tell anything. Finally called Claas and they said that's right. Saves fuel and less noise. What's next???

It is a real nice feature so you can go down the road at full speed on the hydro but you don't have to be WFO on the throttle! Most of my combines I filed an extra notch or something to slow the high idle down a little. Nice feature!

IIRC there was a law suit when someone got killed when they hit a combine on the road with the field lights on, that's why they switch off.

The road lights will meet the European road lighting regulations that all vehicles have to meet, so if they are good enough for cars at car speeds, they are good enough for a combine at 20mph.

Tigercat if you PM me your email address I have a picture of the fuse that you put a jumper wire in that I can send you. The road lights on a 500 series are terrible and dangerous. It is like driving your combine down the road in the dark using your flash light to see the road.
