Hi,
My current Big X 650 has a lot of hours and should be replaced!
We have to Chopping 300h grass and 300ha Corn.
Now we consider between Claas 860 and Big x 580.
have you seen or tested one of them?
I think the fuel consumption is the claas better, but so far we had Krone!

I used to chop 300 a year of hay and 150 of corn with a 5020 and 3800 pull type chopper, then when I got a 4640 and 3970 I thought I was in heaven. couldn't imagine what it would be like to have a spfh and trucks!!!!

Sorry,
We can not here with our small field sizes use pull type chopper's,
but I have great respect before your performance!
can someone say something about the choppers above?

Have not ran a 580 myself, but got feedback from operators than ran it this yearn the US. They were happy with performance, chop quality. If you had success with your current Krone why would you switch to Claas? I crawled all over, through, under 580 at Agri tecnica last year. Lots of new ideas, looking forward to seeing the bigger machines get some of these.

Hi!
I have talked to some who have a big x 580 tested and everyone thought that the diesel consumption is higher than the Claas!
Maintenance is the Claas lot easier,
the corn head has less wear,
the resale value is higher (so far)!

for Claas,
the old drum or V-max?
new 800 (496) or at 900 (497)?
