Was looking at a couple early 1680 combines with the DTI-466 engine and both had significant oil leakage in the area of the PTO. Does anyone know if this is common and what the source is? It looked to be engine oil which would lead me to believe rear oil seal but since both where higher houred machines and both had the same problem I'm curious to see if this is a common problem and what the repair costs might be.

I don't know what the repair cost wold be, but more than likely it is the PTO seal and not the engine seal. You probably need to replace both while you are doing one or the other though.
