After demoing a new holland this year I realized just how loud the feeder is on the IH. case has a silencer kit but I'm wondering if it is worth it. does anyone have experience or opinions?

Harvest Services poly (slat) feeder chain when it’s time to replace. Honestly I find our 7230s not too bad with the factory chain we had or the poly ones we run now; even in some really light crop.

Running Harvest Services chain also, and it's much quieter than the OEM chain. Seems to be holding up as well as the OEM chain. Haven't had problems anyway.

If the silencer kit is the one with the rollers to support the upper chain, stay very far away in corn. On a 7120 we were having problems breaking the bar that carries the strippers for the feederhouse drive sprockets. I was told the silencer kit would help that. The chain carried material around the drive shaft, and the material lodged on the roller shaft. First time in 30+ years we had to call the fire department for a combine fire.
