Normally the transfer tank pump is mounted on top of the tank. Does the pump have to be above the fuel? Getting a tank level with top of cab and would like to mount it down below cab of truck.

To answer title directly, fuel pumps are hardly ever gay.

I don't see why not and it would make the pump slightly faster with a flooded suction.
