We have run one for three yrs now. the field finish is ok but have to keep the speed down or it throws dirt on other rows. Goes thru trash ok we harrow everything not as good as a 5000 in trash. We use the new Holland side band openers but would look at going with dutch next time as the nh they want $300+ per opener.

We put bourgault double shoot tips on one drill this year and it really helped. The plugging issue we had the factory openers was when you lifted the shanks up the openers hit the packer tires and plugged them up. Do not have the issue with bg openers. Happy with the drill now.

We just got one this year. The research we did was its a good drill but the factory opener is garbage. we talked to a bunch of guys who own one and there are a couple of things to look out for. with the depth set at the same notch at all the openers, you then need to check if they are the same depth and fine tune them at the packer wheels slotted hole. some have a slotted hole and some have 2 fixed holes. We got the dutch precision with the 3" tip. $70 for the holder $75 for the tip. We found that the finish is better than our seedmaster was.

We sold our 2 seed hawks because of the twin row in trash was giving us issues. Tried precision case 800 (p2070) single shank design w double shoot tips. They worked well in dry dirt but not well in mud. I changed them to big double shoot made for this drill, and very noticeable diff. Easy pulling, virtually zero plugging.
