It's time to tare down the old K2, (ser. no. 245xx). Shortback GM250 gasser with manual auger. Engine runs fine and already pulled it to keep as a backup to another K2 I own. I know these old machines are getting pretty hard to come by even in bone yards but my wife isn't in the mood to turn our own yard into a Gleaner junk yard. So what do I keep verses junking it for scrap?

make it playhouse for the kids, plant and mow grass under it, keep it and part it out. :)

Do some searching, some guys have seriously pulled the bin and made a big platform with railings for the kids, and tied it into the cab ladder deck, so they can go play pretend BTO in the cab. :)

Seriously, it only takes one multi-hundred dollar trip to Agco to realize you done screwed up sending it off. :)

That sounds like a good idea to me...not so much for the wife???

Ya, I'll probably need a hard to replace part as soon as I scrap it. Most parts can be fabricated, but why if I can keep it around and pull off what I need. I've already pulled out ALL shafts, sheaves, tension pulleys, springs, belts and sprockets that aren't worn. Cylinder, concave and rock door coming out today. I hope to remove transmission next week. Am I missing anything else??? Besides those items, I may try to hide it out back where it's not too much of an eyesore!
