I wish to have a perforated horizontal unloading auger. Has anybody just drilled holes in their solid tube to make it perforated? Would this weaken it to much?
cityboy on the 1400 series and older 9& 815 they had a perf auger tube. i dont know which series you have. the older ones were on the 2nd half of the horz tube. havent seen it on 1600 or newer. i think it would stress it a little. hope that helps.
Just remember your time is worth something as well. The perforated tube is still an option, believe I would just order one and have it done with. Believe you would have a very difficult time getting a good, strong pattern using a drill.
