my 97 model 9500 with a 7.6L motor runs ok at best when it is dry, but in soft ground it is noticeably short of power. Has anyone used a performance chip to increase hp on one of these without screwing up the codes? I am considering putting a mechanical governor on it and running a throttle cable up front if I can't use what I have. As old as it is I really don't mind modifications if they work.

I put in an ag diesel solutions chip in my 9570 and it threw a fuel pressure code on 30% and ran crappy at wot, but not much trouble on 15%. I was disappointed since it was not supposed to throw codes

Also did you try changing all the fuel filters?

The module such as the one for your 9500 combine comes with four different positions ranging in 10%, 20% and 30% gains in horsepower and fuel economy. Understand all these ratings are "up to" their percentage ratings however lot of farmers see a lot of success in the high setting with no engine lights. This module is load based meaning while idling or under very light load it does not add power, under a light/medium load you will see some power gain, and under heavy load you will see the max gains.
