That was an interesting pull type combine. Deere had a serious interest in an acquisition of Versatile back in late 1980s, maybe early 1990s. I think they liked the component design of the Versatile 4WD, as more serviceable than the 8850s 4WDs, and also this combine configuration. Deere eventually backed away from buying Versatile, but they did learn what they wanted during the talks, and eventually introduced a similar configuration, aka CTS, albeit with standard left side unloading auger only. I have a nice metal 1/16 scale model of the Versatile Transaxial combine for sale if some one wants a model for their archieves.
