I have been looking into putting aftermarket finger pickup meters on my planter. I was wondering if anybody has any thoughts about them. They look like a good investment. Also looking at buying the test Stand so I can Test my own meters

Thanks

We started using them 2 years ago. Before that a seed salesman would say what a deal he had on this small seed, and that since we had a finger pickup planter it would work fine. What a fiasco that was. Because of that I would pull off a whole unit and weigh it full then after several acres to see how much I was putting on for sure. It always seemed that no matter the seed size I was always having to fiddle with the rate some. Finally put on the Precision Planting units and for the first time I got on exactly what I was supposed to be putting on. After two years I have put up my scale. When we went through the units after about 200 acres we saw no wear, after 500 acres we replaced the adjustable brushes. All this is on an 8 row 36" planter.
