Just looking on the internet and I am wondering what the pros and cons are of buying a used Rice combine. I know that rice is pretty abrasive (is it the seed or the straw that's so rough?), but if the machine is low hrs, why not consider it? They come with chrome throughout, so they would pretty much last forever. And if I did have a wet harvest, they have 4wd.

I wouldn't hesitate to buy a rice 2388 with low hrs most have extended wear parts heavy rear axile & frame & final drives, look for wear in front tub, rotor cage & both elevators

That's what I was thinking. Do they typically have rock traps?

No, never seen a rice machine with one!!!

That would be an issue for me. Shaving the ground to harvest lentils requires one.
