I was thinking of bagging some of the grain I wanna save for seed temporarily before I haul to seed plant. I am just looking for clarification that the lack of oxygen in the bags doesn't negatively effect germination. I have heard all kinds of stories that it kills germ, quality etc. I have also been told that just make sure its dry and it should be fine for even 4-6 months. I am just planning on temporarily storing it until I can haul it in for cleaning. Although if the frost cracks hard enough I might not have to worry about having any good seed to store......

Never had a problem storing malt barley in bags. I would think seed would be the same

I've had seed wheat in bags till April the last 4 years at 18% and everytime my germ and vigor is in the 90's

Have stored hundreds of thousands of bushels of seed in bags with no problems

Thanks guys just running short of space to keep seed separate so it would be more convenient to just bag it
