I have a 2012 9540 that I want to put all the round bar concaves in for my soybean harvest. None of my concaves have the tab on the lower portion that allows filler plates to be attached to them for harder thrashing beans. I used my small wire concaves with every other wire removed last year in the first three positions on the right hand side and in case of hard thrashing beans and it was OK but I want to be able to also harvest easier thrashing beans without cracking them.

Am I the only one who has the round bar without the tab?

From anyone using only the round bar concaves when doing soybeans what is your opinion?

I know Agco's 2014 settings recommedations for 2014 mention using the filler plates with the roundbar's if in hard thrashing beans.

What do others think of this?

My round bar concaves don't have the tabs either.

You'll want to run large wire on right front 2 sections anyway or you will have a lot of unthreshed pods. I fought it the first year and last year I threw in 2 large wire sections and it solved the problem. Running all large wire this year for beans and so far so good.

Dealer tried to add tabs to three of my round bars concaves and as yet I am having problems with the location of the added piece interfering with the insertion of the concaves. Am going to try to do some grinding today to make them fit, otherwise going back to three grain concaves so I add filler plates if necessary.
