I have had our 1688 for about seven years and never gotten any grain in our cleaning fan. Yesterday I was harvesting on one of our few steep hilled fields and while dumping on the go I noticed the wheat was full of chaff, so I stop and it took forever for the grain to completely stop coming in the bin. After looking around I could see where grain was coming out of the holes in pan under the fan. Is it the steep hills that caused this and would it be more likely to occur when the combine is leaning left as the clean grain auger is pushing up hill to the elevator?
