I believe the concave is set at 2 the separator grate defualt is at 9 rotor 900 and I believe the fan is at 6. these are thesettings from the book for r72 although I'm not100% sure about the fan. I think guys run the rotor a bit slower than that speed also. Anyway I thought I would just give a general starting place for you. And the manual says not to adjust the separator grate unless necassary and then return to 9 .

We were running in wheat and rye and have an R66, before that a R65, have gone from the standard rotor and now have the CDF, we are running ours in the mid position on the left side and about 8 or clsoer to the 9 on the right side, rotor running at almost wide open, 1000 and tight, should have it down darn near zero, on our monitor it says 0.24, fan speed about 6 and have the top chaffer at 5 and bottom one at 4, hope this helps and if i can answer anymore questions let me know, best of luck.

Hibred. What size head do you have on yours? How low are you cutting to the ground and the bpa in the field? How many seeds are you leaving under the straw in the windrow? Just curious on speed too. We have an R66 and did about 3 mph in 100 bu wheat. Leaving about 10-14 seeds per sq foot under the windrow only. Had the F2 bars in. Just wanna know if we are being to picky. We ran w/ a 25 foot auger head.

Stonypharmer, we are running a 25' head also, we don't do very much straw here, what straw we did do was fairly light, pretty much cutting right on the ground, wheat is only running around 70-90 bushels, had some cylinder loss, acceptable but would like to see less, we can never be too picky as i would like less losses as everyone else would, not sure what the green or red machines leave but i still hate to see any cylinder losses, running at 4-5 1/2 mph.
