runing 250-350 rpm seperator grate up on 3 concave have run .3 to 1 can't get rotor loss down 160bushel corn at 28% i know its to wet but it ain't gettin any drier.

so now what is the suggestions to do to improve. We currently have no reverse bars in so we can put some of those in but where would be the best locations. Was thinking about getting aggresive with these this year cause were going to be limited to about 3mph to clean it up on the sieves. having to run them tight to keep out the corn stalks. Also wondering about the f2 bar trick.

Few questions on the f2 bar do you want left or right bars or maybe one of each. and lastly do u want to use new bars or finding a couple at a salvage yard do the trick. Do they take a lot of wear should they be chrome bars.

Thanks
eric

Your pinch point should be the diameter of the cob or slightly less. In that moisture of corn you may have to move your rotor speed up. I have not done that high a moisture for a while but in 160 bus. corn rotor loss should not be an issue. I have never run the sep. grate tighter then 6 in corn and usually more like 7-8. With a cdf 7 is about the same as 9 in a 25" rotor. We remove the helicals over the seperator grate door and put our f2 bar in on the lower side of that. I also run steep pitch. I run a steeper wedge then most but very close to what the manual calls for (service manual).
