we traded our r52 for a brand new r65 last year. We have had nothing but problems with it. The main problem is it does not have any power. We run a 6 row 36" corn head. This combine should play with this head, however we run into major power problems. In average yielding dry corn at 3.5 mph the engine will nose-dive and just give up. When unloading on the go and it does this we end up spilling corn on the ground because we have e to stop fast or the engine will die. Ag co big wigs have been out several times to fix this, and they had the combine all summer working on this problem. Several new computer programs and a fuel chip later we are still in the same boat. We have tried everything. There is another R65 several miles from us with the same problem. Ag co also cannot fix. This combine has a sisu engine. Not impressed. Ag co no longer seems to care about fixing this any more. We are considering a lawyer. Any help would be nice. Out neighbors have 9660 JD and they have an 8 row head, they run circles around us. Our next combine might be green.

We had some issues with our R65 also, its a 2006 model, uses lots of fuel but was told thats just the tier 3 engines, makes no sense to me to have less emissions but burns more fuel, with fuel prices the way they are the government needs to back off on this, seems they are so smart they gone stupid. Anyway we complained and they changed the torque curve to basically not let the engine drop in rpm before the power curve jumps in almost immediately, best i can explain it. Hope this helps and keep after Agco and let us know what they do with it.

We have not had HP issues on any of our Sisu powered tractors or combines. That's not to say we havn't installed the newer software as it comes along. I did see some newer software very recently so you might want to see if you have the latest. It took a while for Cummins to get the software right for combine aplication and I'm not surprised there has been changes with AGCOs Sisu. Not only do they have to get the HP and torque rise right but they have to maintain the emissions.

I have a few questions for you r65. What is your combine S/N? Are you running Gleaner Hugger or what? Average yield and moisture of your corn? Bushels per hour? Was it dyno tested and or do you have results? Does AGCO say you have advertized HP? You say you found a chip for the engine and that didn't make any difference either. This may be to simple but I've seen it reported hear before, check the two 1/2" nuts on rubber snubber for main drive belt. They should be jammed together at very top of 1/2" threaded rod. Which rotor do you have? How many reverse cylinder bars on rotor and what are their locations? Stock helical bar setup? Chopper or discharge beater and are paddles or blades in good condition? Something simply may be getting overlooked on your situation and more info might help someone get you the answer.

there is a new software update for the sisu motors in massey combines, and they are the same engines, so i would assume that there is also a change up for the gleaners as well. The new software is supposed to make the engine generate maximum torque closer to max rpm.

I had the same problem with my 03 R65 with the cummins 8.3 CAPS system. I put a TS Performance chip on it and it solved the problem. Actually can't run it on 20% over because it ramps too hard and you get a surge when it comes down. 10% is perfect. As far as the SISU goes, if AGCO has checked everytihng out mechanically go to the basics.... did ya replace the fuel filters, air filters. Does this motor have a lift pump, is it working properly. Is the concave set too tight, are you running a CDF rotor, is your rotor speed 325 RPM.

I am able to run 4.2 MPH unloading on the go with 210 bu. corn at 20% H2O with the long finger sieve and 8R30 head. This is about all the clean grain elevator will allow.
