There is enough play between the rotor gearbox input shaft and the torque sensing hub that I'm getting a definite rumble. There is a slight amount of rotation possible between the shaft a hub and it will also move in and out. The nut is tight. I had everything off the shaft about eight hundred acres ago (to replace the oil seal) and it all seemed alright. Is the shaft worn? The hub? Everything? Can one shim behind the washer to take the play out? I have thirty plus years of experience with L's but this is only my second fall harvest with this machine.

Problem is the nut was loose at one time or another. When it was loose the hub was able to work on shaft. Hub will wear much faster than shaft. You should be allright by replacing hub only. See that new hub is a just fit on raised area of shaft right next to seal wear sleeve. Be sure washer behind nut is not bottoming against shoulder of shaft prior to crimping hub sight against seal wear sleeve. I have shimmed with larger washer to clear end of shaft when in a pinch and one step better is shim between wear sleeve and hub but best to get the hub ASAP and do i right. If old hub is loose on shaft it needs to go ASAP. Good luck
