Had 18mm on Sat and another 17mm today, so a very nice break after a very dry spell. Will see what happens with weeds then start with some lupins and then canola. Hopefully the moisture hangs around and we can do some wheat later in the month.
I believe there were some good falls up Moree way but unfortunately Walgett has missed out again.
Have just been over to the mid north coast and it is incredibly green over there.

We farm in a 10" average area and have had over 5" for March at our northern farm and 20km south we've had just over 3". It's raining as I type but not counting chickens yet as we had 4" last April and that was it, didn't cover costs.

wow not much rain in a year.

you guys hot all year round? pardon my ignorance I was taught in politically correct American schools. ****lol!

you guys make it a year on 340mm. we can get 30" during the growing season and still have drought hurt the crops if we miss a couple rains in august. we plant in may and crops are mature by oct.

I suppose like anyone timing is more important then amount. 500mm timed right would do a lot better then 750 mm dumped early and late then leave us dry at pod fill. that is how it goes though.

No, thankfully we have a descent cool weather for April - October.
Seems to be the last few months of the growing season that are more important than any other.

Rain at this time of the year is definitely a good start but ..... please ..... not on rice crops I have to harvest. :38:
If there is an app developed to organise rain in squares ..... very appreciative if someone could point me in it's direction :54:
