Re: 1020/2020

Welcome to the boards.

On the left side of your keyboard is the Caps-Lock key. Press it once. Typing everything in caps pretty much annoys everyone and makes it difficult to read. Thanks.

You can get a full fingered auger on a 1020.

I've never run a 2020, so I cannot comment on that or compare the two.

don't buy a 2020 it's a good head but will not float over wet soil or bad conditions as a 1020. we have both their is no comparison

We have a 1020 and we trade this for a 625 hydraflex. I don't have experience with it, we install this next week but it's better of 2020

Ste325, I'm guessing that english isn't your primary language. "I get cha" is just a slang way of saying that he understands what you were saying.

I get cha --> I get ya --> I get you --> I get what you are saying.

Re: 1020/2020

yeah what he said

I guess ive never looked at a JD bean head to be honest

And honestly we were pretty impressed with the 30 ft 1020 heads

Considering all the beans they cut and how well they held up

Sure the dividers and some parts inside the divider on the left hand of the head could have maybe been made better but we can say that about alot of things

Overall the 1020 heads are really good and i would think if you found a late model with a full fingered auger you would be very happy

Re: 1020/2020

Aside from the extra wear that an older head would have, does the model year mean anything on a 1020? I mean, has case actually made any improvements to it over the past 10 years?

Re: 1020/2020

I was saying new just because of less wear and the full fignered auger.

Also you need the 3 fingers on the black metal shield on the sides

Not to mention the quick attach pto drive shafts and they also made an update for $120.00 and replaced that darn cable thats up by the feederhouse that runs the Field tracker..

I hated fighting that for the first few days or more each year.

GET The WD 40 ready and move the flapper up and down all day lol

So that update was wise...

So there's a few things

Re: 1020/2020

I have no experience with the 1020 or the 2020, but I can say that the full fingered auger makes a lot of difference. We ran 2 new 2388s this year and one had the full fingered 1010 and the other was the standard 1010. I think it made all the difference in the world as to how well the header fed into the combine, especially cutting ryegrass.

Yeah i wish i could help you out..... A few guys went to the 2020 and just commented that they could run later at night

but then again its hard to tell what year or condition they were comparing it too.

Good luck im sure either way you will have a good head
