Re: 2388 wheels in?

We run 30.5L 32 dished out, but am also curious about peoples experience with the wheels dished in. I believe a 2388 with 30.5L 32 dished in gives 118 inch wheel spacing. On a 2588, 120 inch spacing. It looks to me like one would not need to remove the wheel to change the front concave. It may not be quite as easy, but looks to be manageable. I have never tried this though.

Re: 2388 wheels in?

We run both our 2388 with the wheels dished in.It is possible to change concaves but can be a challenge. We find greasing the axle couplers to be the hardest thing but it is manageable once you contort yourself into the right position

Re: 2388 wheels in?

Reduced stubble damage from corn stalks (on 120" centers one would not be running on top of the stalks).

With the stalks left standing some claim the ground will dry out/warm up quicker in the spring. The following spring the field conditions may be more uniform due to every row still standing.

Harvested corn field looks nicer without the wheel tracks.

If the farm is in a controlled traffic situation, 120" is a logical choice for wheel spacing on of all the equipment.
