Re: 8010 2004?

They work awesome in barley... If you set them correctly, all these comments about them throwing over are form operators who dont understand how to set their combine or dont care. Just like any other machine its only as good as the guy running it!!! They are not that complicated but they work completly differant than the 2300 series. What fan upgrade are you refering to?

any 04 needs the guts changed to be like the newer machines. cone and rotor cage. mine was done it made it different machine. update the control pressure system to the newest style. they are good machines. now that we know how to fix them.
Re: 8010 2004?

Combine will be fine if you set it up correctly. I have had great help from this forum. Mechanics around here can fix them in the dark, but don't know how to set them up for less than ideal conditions. Crary makes extensions to go on top of factory ones.
Re: 8010 2004?

From my experience the 2004 model are trouble,Try to at least buy a 2005 model. Too many reasons to list on this forum. As far as producing a good sample goes, They are only as good as the operator setting them up.
Re: 8010 2004?

We have 3 2004 8010 machines only one machine had downtime all season, blown hose not too serious. There is virtually no differance between 04 and 05 after the updates. The enhanced shake does offer increased capacity, but sieve loss is not typically an issue for us. Horsepower is typically the limiting factor.
Re: 8010 2004?

Our 2004 8010 has had the rotor changed to the small tube style, plus a horsepower boost, and all CIH recomended updates. It has been a great machine for us in canola, oats, wheat , beans and corn. Ran 230 hours so far this fall, with no problems other than the lift pump. If the machine you are looking at can perform for you like this one has for us, I think that you will be pleased!

Good to hear some good stories, Sounds like your CASE IH dealerships in USA are doing a good job. Would really like spend a harvest with a contractor to experience different conditions that your headers are working in compared to Australian dry conditions.

Quick question, Does it ever get that hot harvesting in the USA that you have to stop the combine?
