Those reversers are junk. They've had all sort of fixes but they still just don't work very long, especially if you're pulling a big corn head. We converted to a fixed speed drive for about $800 and never had any more trouble. Only downside is you're limited to about 4.5 mph but that is usually plenty fast.

if the speed is never changed, you are better off with the fixed speed

an easy check to see if it is electrical is, key on - engine off, cab door open, flip on the header switch, you should hear a pretty good clunk, that would be the header clutch. if you have a clunk, drain the oil in the reverser and that should indicate a problem in there.

Weren't reverser's mechanically controlled on 50 series?
I thought electric was 60 series thing.

i think we are dealling with the header engage, not reverse.

please correct me if i'm wrong
