A 9860 is quite a bit harder on fuel than a 9760, too much for the minimal capacity gain.

9860 and 9770 are pretty much exactly the same only 9770 will use at least 10-15% less fuel. The 9870 has 15-20% more capacity on average even more in some conditions.

and the 70 series are built better. heavier drives, improved grain tank legs. just built stronger and heavier

The 9870 is so much better than the 9860 don't even waste your time on a 9860. We owned a 9860 one year and after that we almost bought a cat 585R until john deere gave us a 9870 a year before they were released and we are so happy with it. We did demo a Cat 585R and it was a very impressive machine.
