It does open into the cab, and you do get some stuff in the cab when you open it.

It opens up into the cab and puts all the dust onto the back ledge. I can't clean the window in the field unless I want all the dust in the cab. Only do it at the yard with a vaccum close by. Very stupid on NHs part.

I trick I've done is cut some lengths of foam 4 inches square and jam them in between the window and the bin. This seals the area from dust, only need to clean the windows once in 500hrs. Have just changed to another CR970 and took them out, washed them and put them into the new one. Pity NH didn't do something like this.
