Hello michigan farmer, here in mn. we run several sts's with expanded stone trap. The kit is about $900.00, well worth it if it stop only one rock. We havent noticed any feeding concerns , but can only speak about corn , beans , edible beans and wheat. Plus the kit includes enough to put trap back to normal opening. Also a couple spare hrs and a good drill the job goes quite well.

Well , really it does both , better protection , but still would recomend doing at least once a day, I prefer more than once a day. Also there is more you can do to the 600f to help also. Far as sts v.s. walker we've been fortunate with rock damage more so than than the conv. we don't do much internally other than feed accelerator and the discharge beater. thanks for the question michigan farmer.
