Re: never before seen joystick in 2002 2388

Hi

I think the switch in question is an emergency feeder cutoff switch.

So you can turn the feeder of without taking you hand of the control lever.

Much like the ones put on the multifunction control levers on the later 8010's and 9120's.

John Deere has had these on their hydro handles as well for a few years (maybe since the STS inception?), but it's a yellow button on the top of the handle that is used to shut it off in case of emergency like stated above. I'd be willing to bet it serves the same purpose.

I would sure like to see a picture of this set up. We always shut the feederhouse off as soon as it empties of straw. More than once, I've reached for the shutoff switch and you guess it, shut the seperator off...GRRRR!!!!

I wished the "auger off-on" button would be the "feeder off-on" switch.

This is european standard equipment . I've added this to a few of the combines we've sold. It uses a dipping relay like the one in the unloader engage circuit. All parts available thru case.

Thanks coleslaw. Looks like it would be the real ticket but not planning on going overseas to get one. I bet it would be an expensive thing to do, let alone the airfare overseas.

Thanks again.....wished it was on my machine!

If you really want one of these, I'm sure you can get one. There are people on this forum from Europe. Just have one of them get the parts and ship it to the US. That is way cheaper than airfare.

I'm sure there are things sold in the US market that aren't available in Europe - maybe a swap could be done.

this switch should be a standard feature on a rice combine when rotor starts to choke a quick cut off will save a engine kill, an like was mentioned you won't hit the wrong switch?
