--12” (305 mm) cross auger for unmatched average unloading rate of 4.0 bu. per second.
--12” (305 mm) bin fill auger for increased clean grain handling capacity.
--3’ longer unloader tube for increased reach and 19” greater discharge height.
--Upgraded cab interior and field lighting package.
--Optional leather heated seat (cloth seat standard).

The list in the quote is from the pages 12 and 13 in the R6 brochure (page 7 in the PDF posted on www.agcoiron.com).

The A6 Series brochure is the same. The what's new highlights are on pages 12 and 13 (page 7 of the PDF posted on www.agcoiron.com). Here's the A6 list.

--New grain handling system on A66 (Class VI) and A76 (Class VII) features Direct Flow™ unloading system. Utilizing only two augers, versus three on competitive models, reduces power requirement when unloading, machinery wear and cracking of grain.
--New 12” (305 mm) bin fill auger for increased grain handling capacity on all models.
--New optional 350 bushel (12,334 L) grain bin on A76 Model.
--New cab with ISOBUS electronics and virtual terminal with programmability up to 20 different crop settings can be stored.
--Automatic one-button recall of all crop setting functions.
--Reduced B pillar for improved visibility.
--New armrest controls with integrated command arm mounted C2000 virtual terminal with optional video capability.
--Optional leather heated seat (cloth seat standard).
--New handsome styling on A66, A76 and A86 models.
--New cab roof lighting package for unmatched night vision.
--New service lights for engine compartment, left and right side of combine.
--Easier servicing with integrated grease banks.
--New heavy duty adjustable axle and rear wheel assist (RWA) option on A76 with larger steering tire options available.

Moving the faster unloading rate available previously only on the Class VIII Gleaner into all five models in the line up appears to be one of the big items for the 2009 Gleaners.

Not sure, the pdf file is a rough draft. They are still working on the ones you can get from the dealer.

Truth, with the new swivel at a higher reach, longer reach, plus 4 bushels a second. I would stick with the traditional swivel.
After using the swivel I would never want to go back to a turret. Unloading on the go with a 35' head should not a problem with the new swivel if that is necessary.

What would be your guys opinion on an A versus an R. In our situation we have 600 acres of wheat where we keep all the straw. So combining about 6 inches off the ground. Limiting factor is getting the wheat seed out of the straw. Would an A do a better job of that due to more concave cleaning area. Or is an R about the best you can do for in wheat? We have an R65 w/ a 25 foot agco flex head. But are kind of debating on whether to maybe go to an A because I don't think a R76 would help much due to the same concave size, but the A76 has alot more cleaning area. I do like the A's arm control panel, looks alot cleaner and nicer than the R series.

We went from a R62 to a MF9790, and if you are wanting to bale straw the Massey (A series gleaner) is the way to go. As you probably know the straw coming out of a R series is the greatest. In the years we had it there was only one fall where it left good straw, and that was only on one field, that was wet and tough. I mean really wet. As for cleaning capacity, there two completely different means of separating grain and we have never had a problem saving grain from the R series. We have had difficulty getting the Massey set.

I thought they both had the same cab.

I combine around 400 acres of wheat a year to bale for straw and i prefer, and my customers prefer, the r series because of how it lays the straw in windrows and how it chops it up more. I never have any trouble getting the grain out of the straw and iv harvested forage wheat which was 5 ft tall 6 inches off the ground and got all the grain out.

In our particular situation we live between two lakes, therefore usually dealing with humidity, that's y its a little harder for us to get the wheat out of the straw on 100+ bushel wheat, which we have every year. And when it does get real dry out, then the straw just gets beat up pretty bad, probably what farmerleach was referring to. But the the 5 series is far better at not beating the straw up like 2 series was, I think the CDF rotor helped lengthen the pieces out a little bit more. Maybe I should just be happy to be where I am at with the 5 series. We did all our wheat in one week, where as some people were running conventional JD's and had multiple combines in the field to do half of what we did.

Stonypharmer where are you located at?

We ran a gen 2 High inertia rotor from sunnybrook welding and machine shop (http://www.sunnybrookwelding.com/accessories.html) in our R-62.
We combine mostly barley, and canola. And 99% of the time the straw coming out of the back of the gleaner was at the most two inch's long. It would leave a windrow, ten to twelve inches wide and four to six inches high, in the middle of the day. When it would get tougher at night the windrow would get a little taller but not much. It really wasn't fun to bale with our baler, so we ended up having a neighbor bale it with a large square baler. It was good straw, but very hard to bale.

The R series is getting the same console as as the A series and Masseys. Like Sam said the brochure is just a rough draft and it looks like they've still got a lot of pages in there from the old brochure (5 series). I didn't understand why they were showing the old console in there at first either.

I am located in northeast Wisconsin...south of Green Bay. On our current R65 w/ the CDF rotor the length of the straw avg's 8-12 inches in length. I guess all depends on how the machine is set for straw after the concave. We haven't had any complaints on our gleaner since we switched from the C62 to a R65 5 years ago.

they need to get rid of the crappy auger swing up design....still havent figured out why there going with that swing up style, it's a horrible design with no advantage. They have it on the A series but not the R...my only question is why not the other?

Shoot and I was thinking about putting the old swivel on the new bine but not after the last comment, that's why we always went with the turret, but its slow and that swivel would be nice.
